Anis Mojgani Interview

American poet Anis Mojgani is best known for his performance work: a two-time winner of the National Individual Poetry Slam – in 2005 and 2006 – and winner of the 2007 World Cup Poetry Slam. He’s also published a number of books of poetry, most recently Songs From Under the River: A Collection of Poetry, and he journeyed down to the Sydney Writers’ Festival to share his work with us. His works speak of hope, of respect for the down-trodden, of emotion and personal history, and he joined Sky Kirkham to talk about the place of poetry in his life, and in the world. Originally broadcast on 25/07/2013. Anis’ work is available through Write Bloody.
