How much does your world change when the shape of your family shifts? What about your view of the world? The Seven Good Years, the new work by Etgar Keret is bookended by two major upheavals – the birth of his son, and the death of his father. In between, Keret considers his family’s history, and the shape of his nation: Israel.

The Seven Good Years is the first memoir by Etgar Keret, but he’s previously published comics and children’s books, and is best known for his short stories, many of which have been featured on This American Life.
